I am a mixed-media collage artist…what is that you ask, (if your entire life is not put on hold every time the ClothPaperScissors magazine comes in the mail)? What that means is…I…m addicted to paper and paint. If I had a million dollars I would spend it all on paper and paint and gel medium (glue). I use anything I can find to create…newspaper, maps, old books, acrylics, charcoal, Sharpies, photos…you get the picture…to create collage. I love creating rich textures by layering paint upon paper, paper upon paint. That is only my moonlighting job…
By day I am mama to an almost-one-year old baby boy Jack, wife to my love and my friend, Darryl, who I really never thought I’d actually find then get to marry, part-time teacher to 20 adorable kindergartners, expert napper, terrible house keeper, amateur garage-saler, wannabe walker, and a lover of all things old and rusty.
Most importantly, I am a child of God, created to love and be loved. And I have to keep reminding myself of that every single day. And this life is a journey to figure out what that looks like, and sounds like, and smells like and tastes like…and to remember that truth, that ultimately I am here simply to love and be loved…that’s it. So simple. Not easy. No, intensely difficult, but simple.
